Manage your time and enjoy the slow life with the Bullet Journal method

Return to the blog

Autumn is the time of year when we dedicate the most time to planning. Vacations end, school starts, we set new goals… But managing time well to get the most out of each day is quite a challenge.

In recent years, many apps and agile methodology systems have appeared promising to help us make the most of our time. But the truth is, we are increasingly overwhelmed by information and screens. That’s why at muy mucho we suggest simplifying. This autumn, we’re going back to basics, to paper, so you can truly enjoy the slow life.

Starting September 24th and while supplies last, with the purchase of 3 items on our website or in our stores, we’ll give you a super practical Bullet Journal notebook. Its cover is kraft paper and inside it has 80 A5-sized pages to organize your tasks.

The Bullet Journal method, popularly known as BuJo, is an analog planning system that works through lists and a symbol code. It’s super simple and gives you a lot of freedom to organize different aspects of daily life. Created by designer Ryder Caroll, the great advantage of this system is that it not only helps improve our productivity but also encourages our more creative side.

If you’re a fan of lists and traditional planners but they never quite convince you because you always end up with too much or too little space, you’ll definitely love the Bullet Journal!

If you’re a fan of lists and traditional planners but they never quite convince you because you always end up with too much or too little space, you’ll definitely love the Bullet Journal!

We’ll tell you how to make the most of it! Note these 5 tips:

1. Carrying your own BuJo is very easy.

You only need a pen and a notebook, preferably one with dotted pages. But if you prefer, you can use a plain, lined, or squared one. Set aside a few pages at the beginning to create a content index that helps you find what you’re looking for at any time. You’ll build this index as you fill in your notebook.

2. Then create your annual, monthly, weekly, or daily task logs.

Use only the ones you really need. For example, in the annual planning, you might only need to include some important dates you want to remember: doctor appointments, vacations, events… But there will always be those who need to note more things. The beauty of this system is that it’s quick and flexible. Adapt it to your needs.

3. To indicate the different types of tasks in each of your entries, their importance, or their status, the Bullet Journal system uses a symbol or bullet.

You can see here the original symbols to adopt them, or create your own.

4. Each time you complete a task, you update its symbol.

Those left incomplete can be carried over or migrated to the following days, weeks, or months. Migration usually happens when creating those new entries and checking the previous pages to see which tasks were left unfinished. Take a moment to consider why you didn’t complete them and if they really deserve your time.

5. The key to falling in love with this notebook is having everything you need to get organized in it.

So use it also for all kinds of lists: birthdays, gift ideas, movies to watch, places you’d like to visit, annual resolutions, habits you want to implement… Also include things that aren’t lists. Use your Bullet Journal to jot down reflections, ideas, or favorite quotes. You can keep it simple and minimalist, or decorate it with photos, drawings, and conceptual diagrams. Do whatever inspires you the most!
