This Saturday, June 5th, we celebrate World Environment Day with the goal of raising global awareness about the importance of preserving our planet by taking care of it.
At muy mucho we are committed to this cause, working on 3 pillars.
We are dedicated to designing more and more products made from natural and recycled raw materials that help promote eco-friendly homes.
We work daily to find local suppliers to reduce the pollution caused by long-distance transportation.
We try to minimize the plastic in our packaging,so for months now we have been adapting our designs to kraft format.
You can also help care for the environment by starting with small actions at home—join the change.
Actions to care for the environment from home
Separate your trash. Make it a habit to separate waste so it can be recycled.
You can use these types of bins, which you can find in our physical and online stores.
Use reusable products. There are many products that can be used multiple times to protect nature. For example, use tupperware to store food instead of wrapping it in plastic. You can also use airtight containers instead of plastic bags to store food.
In our online and physical stores, you can find glass airtight containers with wooden lids like the ones shown below, among many other eco-friendly options.
Turn off the lights and take advantage of natural light. Raise blinds, open curtains to let sunlight in, and get used to turning off lights in rooms when no one is there.
Avoid leaving devices plugged in. Devices that are off but still plugged in consume energy, so it’s important to unplug them.
Use the thermostat. To control the temperature of your home for both heating and air conditioning, it’s necessary to use a thermostat.
Give a second chance. Give your clothes, books, furniture, or toys a second chance before throwing them away. You’ll save money and protect nature.
Reduce water consumption. Use rainwater to water plants, shorten your bath time, and make sure to close faucets properly.
Use reusable bags. Plastic bags pollute, and single-use bags—even if made from recyclable materials—also harm the environment. Use cloth bags as a substitute for single-use ones.
